Text Box: Performance & Contest Opportunities August 4-8, Benton County Fair Karaoke Contest. Prelims at before the fair on Wednesdays in July at Woodstock’s Pizza in Corvallis. Sign up at Woodstock’s in advance. Open to all counties. August 5, 2:30 pm. I have a performance opportunity for my students at the Benton County Fair! August 5, 4:30 pm. Benton County Fair Talent Contest. Open to Benton County residents only. Applications available online and due August 3rd. (www.bentoncountyfair.net then go to Benton Fair, then Get Involved, then Special Contest & Events. The link to the application is under the flyer for the contest.) August 12-15, Polk County Fair Talent Show. Performers from all counties are welcome to compete. Applications are online. August 19, 3 to 7 pm. Lebanon Farmers’ Market. All students are encouraged to participate.

Text Box: Summer is winding down and I’m planning my fall schedule already! But, there are still some great performing opportunities coming up. (See the schedule below.) I especially need singers for the August 19th performance at the Lebanon Farmers’ Market. We have 3 hours to fill! There are also talent and karaoke contests coming up. Check it out on the schedule below. The Fall Festival is having a Talent Showcase for performers 18 and under. You must apply and submit an audio or video sample of your talent (it’s not just for musicians). The top 2 or 3 performers chosen will also receive some monetary compensation (probably $50 each). Time slots are available for up to 20 minutes. It’s a great way to break into the Fall Festival and get some great publicity and maybe a little money! Applications are available online and are due by August 13th. I’m raising my rates for new students, but current students can continue to receive the rates they are currently paying for life, IF you don’t take more than three months off in a row. Let your friends know that if they start taking lessons before August 26, 2010, they will also receive the lower rates for life AND you will receive a tuition credit for the referral! It’s a win-win situation!
